Coffee and sport: a combination between body and soul wellbeing

A new sponsorship of Caffè Ernani is born!

We have decided to support a local sports reality to which we are very fond.

In fact, the owners of Caffè Ernani have always been big basketball fans, and having all grown up in Desio, they have a team in particular in their hearts: Pallacanestro Aurora Desio. They follow every match, even away, to always have the opportunity to cheer their favorite team.

We could only start this collaboration to offer concrete support.

We believe that supporting sport is important: well-being and physical health are essential to stay healthy.

Pallacanestro Aurora Desio - Presentation

The company was born on June 29, 1994, a few days after the death of the old and glorious A.S. Aurora Basket Desio.

After the first 1994/95 season, exclusively dedicated to youth activity and studded with many satisfactions, the merger with Orobica Basket Bergamo allows the Desio club to return to play the B2 series in the 1995/96 championship.

The following year, thanks to the acquisition of the rights of Juve Cremona, Aurora participates in the B1 championship, immediately going close to the promotion to Serie A2 on the first attempt.

In the summer of 1998, however, they opted for a turnaround, choosing not to enroll in the B1, but starting from the Promotion Championship, in which the young owners could play.

The climb to the national championships proved to be sudden and in just 3 seasons the Aurora conquered the C1 series.

It began in fact with the finals in the spring of 1999 during which the team hits the D series; the following year the script is repeated: no playoffs and direct promotion to Serie C2.

In 2000/01, after having closed the regular season in second position, the desians obtained the pass for Serie C1, winning the place of honor at the Final-Six in Cassano d’Adda. They spent thirteen seasons in Serie C1, reaching the playoffs eleven times, the semifinals five times and the final promotion in the 2009/10 and 2013/14 seasons.

In the summer of 2014, the request for repechage in Serie B was accepted, allowing Aurora to return to the third national series 16 years after the last appearance. This incredible experience lasted 5 years, achieving a great result, reaching the promotion playoffs, won in the 2017/18 season.

In the following season, Aurora was relegated again to Serie C Gold, a category that is still disputed today.

Summing up Pallacanestro Aurora Desio over the years won the following titles:

  • 4 National Juniores / Under 20 Finals (1995, 2000, 2004, 2017)
  • 3 Under 19 National Finals (2009, 2010, 2013)
  • 2 Cadet / Under 18 National Finals (1996, 2016)
  • 4 Under 17 National Finals (2008, 2011, 2014, 2015)
