Pannacotta al Caffè: la ricetta facile, cremosa e con il caffè giusto per te

I maestri della tostatura media

Five ingredients. A few minutes of preparation. A restaurant-quality result.

Coffee panna cotta is one of the most beloved desserts: creamy, elegant, and the perfect way to end a meal. And if you like coffee, you can also find dessert and a cup of coffee in one.

In this article, we’ll guide you step-by-step through the preparation process, starting with our YouTube video tutorial, and help you choose the right coffee based on the flavor you’re looking for: delicate and floral, or intense and bold.

  • Simple: just 5 ingredients, no complicated techniques.
  • Versatile: you can serve it plain, with chocolate sauce, vanilla sauce, or coffee beans.
  • Customizable: depending on the coffee you use, the taste changes completely.
  • Suitable for everyone: even if you’re not a coffee expert, the result will always be up to par.
  • 500 ml of fresh cream
  • 150 ml of coffee (extracted with a moka pot)
  • 80 g of sugar
  • 1 vanilla pod (or vanilla extract)
  • 8 g Gelatin sheets (fish glue)
  1. Make the gelatin
Place the gelatin sheets in a bowl of cold water. Let them soak for about 10 minutes, until soft.
  2. Extract the coffee
Make the coffee with a moka pot. This method ensures the best balance between body and aroma for this recipe. Set aside.
  3. Heat the cream, sugar, and vanilla.
Pour the cream, sugar, and vanilla seeds (or extract) into a small saucepan. Heat over medium heat, stirring, until the mixture almost boils. Do not let it boil.
  4. Combine the coffee and gelatin.
Remove the saucepan from the heat. Add the coffee and the well-squeezed gelatin. Stir vigorously until the gelatin has completely dissolved in the hot mixture.
  5. Pour and chill
Distribute the mixture into molds, glasses, or bowls. Let cool at room temperature for a few minutes, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours (ideally overnight).
  6. Serve
If you used individual molds, dip them in hot water for a few seconds to facilitate release. If you used glasses or bowls, serve directly. Garnish with whole coffee beans, chocolate shavings, or a coffee sauce.

This is the point that really makes the difference between a “good” panna cotta and an unforgettable one. Coffee isn’t just an ingredient: it’s the star of the dessert. That’s why choosing the right blend completely changes the final result.

Want a more delicate, floral flavor?

Choose a medium-roasted single-origin Arabica.
I recommend our Ethiopian Sidamo; it’s perfect: smooth, with floral, fruity, and citrus notes, and a fresh, pleasant acidity. The result will be an elegant, fragrant panna cotta with a delicate yet distinctive character.

Do you prefer a more intense and less sweet dessert?

Then opt for a blend with a higher percentage of Robusta. Our Stretto, a 100% Robusta blend with a medium roast, gives sweets bolder and slightly bitter notes, without being aggressive or unpleasant on the palate. Ideal if you love the contrast between sweet and bitter.

stretto blend

La pannacotta al caffè è un dolce versatile. Ecco tre modi per renderla ancora più speciale:

  1. Plain, with a few whole coffee beans as decoration: simple and elegant.
  2. With coffee sauce and dark chocolate: melt the chocolate in a bain-marie, add hot coffee and stir until you obtain a glossy sauce to pour over the dessert.
  3. With vanilla sauce: for a sweet, creamy contrast that softens the intense flavor of the coffee.

Coffee panna cotta proves that good coffee doesn’t just exist in the cup. With a few ingredients and the right blend, you can transform it into a memorable dessert.
