Filter Coffee Has Arrived at Torrefazione Ernani in Milan!

I maestri della tostatura media

We’re excited to announce a big news: starting today, at Torrefazione Ernani in Corso Buenos Aires 20, Milan, you can enjoy our coffees brewed using filter extraction methods!

Taste all Ernani coffees prepared with a Clever Dripper or French Press.

This is an important step born from our desire to offer an even richer and more complete experience—one that respects the unique characteristics of each coffee.
If you love delicate aromas, natural sweetness and the clean taste of slow brewing methods, this news is just for you.

Filter coffee, or brew coffee, is an alternative extraction method to espresso, widely popular in Northern Europe, the United States, and Asia. Unlike espresso, which is brewed under high pressure in just a few seconds, filter coffee is prepared through immersion or percolation, allowing a slower extraction that brings out the aromas and complexity of each bean while reducing bitterness.

What’s the result in the cup?
A lighter-bodied coffee, yet extremely aromatic, clean, and full of nuances.

We’ve selected two of the most loved filter brewing methods in the world:

A hybrid between pour-over and full immersion.

Thanks to a smart valve system that only opens when the brewer is placed on a cup, it allows full control over brewing time.

The result is a clean, well-rounded coffee with great sweetness and aroma.

A true icon of filter coffee!

This plunger method produces a full-bodied brew, with a richer texture and strong aromatic presence.

Ideal for more intense and structured coffees.

Each cup is made fresh to order, with our signature medium roast, specially designed to highlight every origin’s best qualities.

With the introduction of filter brews, we wanted to expand the options available to our customers.

Now you can order any Ernani coffee as a filter brew, choosing from:

  • Classic blends: like Allegro, Armonia, Vivace, and Stretto
  • Specialty coffees: such as India Kalledevarapura, Honduras Las Capucas, or Brazil “Caffè delle Donne”
  • Selected single origins: including Blue Diamond, Ethiopia Sidamo, Colombia Finca la Meseta, and Brazil Bom Chocolate

Whether you’re into fruity and floral notes, or a more chocolaty, rich flavor, our team will guide you to the perfect coffee for your taste—and your preferred brew method.

But that’s not all…

At our coffee shop in Corso Buenos Aires, you’ll always find five different coffees to choose from, freshly brewed as espresso.

Note: Two out of the five coffees are on a monthly rotation—so every month, there’s something new to discover! We’re waiting for you to come in and taste what’s new.

Choose your coffee, try it as an espresso, then taste it in filter… or take it home and experiment with your own gear.

Torrefazione Ernani is now more than ever a place of discovery and sharing.

We want to offer you a complete sensory experience, focused on quality, transparency, medium roasting, and a genuine love for coffee in all its forms.

Whether you’re a curious beginner or a seasoned coffee lover, you’ll find a warm welcome, professionalism, and a world of aromas to explore.
